Learning paths and effective onboarding
Our client had a great need of recruiting employees with a specific technical competence due to large demand from customers.
The number of candidates on the market, with the required competencies, was insufficient and no external training institute addressed these needs.
The company decided to develop the competencies internally. People Horizon was selected to lead the setup of the training and the onboarding in the new role. The organization was engaged with line managers and specialists taking on the role as trainers.
A mix of pedagogical methods in the blended learning structure were used to maximize learning. A Buddy concept was implemented to help the new colleagues on the job.
Key performance indicators were developed to evaluate the outcome from an individual and organizational perspective.
The program had a great impact on the lead time for new recruits to become productive, it was reduced from 8 to 4 months.
85% of the participants stated that they had aquired the right level of knowledge and understanding to succeed in their new role, 100% stated that the program exceeded their expectations and 95% stated that the trainers and buddies where highly skilled and engaged.
100% of the recruiting managers evaluated the program as very impactful as they could support the new team members to deliver and develop instead of handling training and practical on-boarding issues.
